Why No HP Mention In Today's Release...?

I find it curious that HP wasn't mentioned at all. RSA? Yes. (And actually that conspicuous mention of RSA as a live wire... has got me me going back to them and reviewing developments.) But, no HP. (Used to be that HP was trumpeting its WAVX relationship... and we were perfectly happy to be trumpeted about.)

When you visit the HP VerSecure page, it has that "Nobody home since late '98" look. Just something that makes me go hmmmm.... I've been rooting around all of HP's security offerings. And some just seem to be ripe for EMBASSY. But, no direct mention.

Of course, I've wondered about IBM... and as of E3... Steven assures us that they are working with IBM on a weekly basis.

There is, of course, another way of looking at this no-HP thing-y. Maybe, HP is wanting us to be quiet... not to steal any thunder from what IT wants to announce. Tomorrow is the HP announcement day, after all.

For an RB poster: "Freemont" is HP's name for its proposed new e-commerce standard/set of API interfaces. I read about Freemont, I believe, in Infoworld. None of what I read seemed to yell "EMBASSY!"

I've been sort of wanting to comment about the perceived elitism of this thread. Sort of. But... I'll leave it be. It's fairly obvious... I like this thread. Good sense of community. Good thinking. I particularly want to praise Steven for his ongoing work here.

Best Regards...
