Gold going, going... Gold was down about a buck and a half. At the rate it's been going - down on average a couple of dollars a day - in another 135 days it will be at zero. Obviously that's not going to happen, but it goes to show what extrapolation will do for you.

The most notable area of movement was the bank stock index, down a couple of percent early on. It wound up closing just slightly better than that.
