Timothy, I believe that there are two "Alpha", one is involved with GaAs the other is a broad supplier of chemicals including unique metalorganics for chemical vapor deposition, but that from memory and things change so fast that I might be wrong. As for gold, sure if someone wants to get a 8% to 10% bump, at $275 or so, gold is attractive, my point is that the AUX will typically do much better than the bullion itself. I am not in gold or the XAU myself, but that is because of "religious reasons" (I really do not like the golden calf <VBG>), but technically, one must be removed from personal biases (VVBG).
