My boot partition, Yamaha 4416s, buy.com bargain watch
Well, I definately grew an NTFS partition to the full size of the drive, but I don't think I ever did this with the NT system partition or the boot partition. It would have run counter to my long-running DI backup strategy. Then again, I may be misremembering.
But on to your more exciting news <g-->
Well, I'm happy to say that warped minds think alike! I also ordered this drive from buy last weekend. I've had my eye on it for some time, and when they beat what was practically the best OEM price anywhere for the retail version and had it in stock, I just couldn't resist. I'm really glad you're so pleased with it.
My S/H, however, was $29--because as usual, I porked out. :) notable steals at the moment include the Ultraplex Plextor 32x SCSI drive (nice match with the yamaha,) Diamond's highly regarded SupraExpress v.90 internal modems for $44.95 before a $20 rebate, 4x Read-Write media for $2.95 each (I maxed out at 10), a 4 connector 3-drive SCSI internal cable at $3, and the outstanding Antec FT case with 300 watt smart power supply 6/2 external drive bays for $81. New Teac floppies are now quite reasonable at $14. I bought all these and some other stuff to boot for less S/H than most want for just the case.
Please keep the thread posted on your automation efforts! I will swipe your techniques liberally, no doubt! ;) |
