but one has to wonder why they used a 384 kb/s variant of ADSL against a 27Mb/s cable modem platform
I suspect they did this because the two systems are the closest in price (with dsl at the moment still more expensive). The bias of the survey is obviously towards consumer use with the emphasis on "prime-time" evening hours and measurements of downloads times for small web pages.
