Bridges.com's Frank Bowers retires; John Simmons appointed chairman

Frank Bowers has retired as president. Mr. Bowers' retirement, which has been planned for the past few months, is effective the end of May. "Frank played an important role in establishing the technical platform for our original Career Explorer product," said Doug Manning, chief executive officer of Bridges.com Inc. "He has hired and trained staff who now manage and develop that platform. We greatly appreciate the contributions Mr. Bowers has made to our company."
Upon the retirement of Mr. Bowers. Mr. Manning will assume the duties of the president's position.

John C. Simmons has been appointed as chairman of the board of directors. In this role, Mr. Simmons will take an active role in the development of relationships that further Bridges.com's business plan. Former chairman, Doug Manning, will continue as chief executive officer and continue to serve on the board.
"John Simmons' experience with publicly traded companies and strategic corporate development will help Bridges reach the next level in our business plan." said Mr. Manning, chief executive officer of Bridges.com Inc. "His expertise makes him an excellent choice for the new and expanded role as our board chairman."
Mr. Simmons has experience in strategic planning related to distribution businesses, leading them from start-up through growth phases. He has taken three companies from junior exchanges to the Toronto Stock Exchange including Contour Blind & Shade (Canada) Ltd. and InsulPro Industries Inc.
Most recently, he was president and CEO of Integrated Paving Concepts Inc., a company he founded in 1992. He remains on the board of this TSE listed company. Mr. Simmons graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an honours BA in business administration in 1975.
Mr. Simmons added, "Bridges.com has had remarkable success to date. This is a clearly focused Internet company that has achieved impressive growth and has strong customer loyalty. Based on this unique position in the market, my role will to be to explore expanded business opportunities for the company."
