Compare like with like. 1Q for DELL and HWP does not include barren January. It does for CPQ. This intelligent post from the Yahoo Club sums it up better than I can.

Even had CPQ performed to expectations 50% of its sales for 1Q would have been in March, and 30% of them in the last two weeks of March. January would have accounted for less than 15%. January, is the worst month of the year for all boxmakers, December, the best.

In their 4Q, DELL and HWP mix their January's with their December's. COMPAQ doesn't.

So the comparison between the 1Q of the boxmakers is not comnpletely fair.
