Geek, I hate to say it but Microsoft's present television ad campaigns are fairly effective. They use the re-introduction of older pop songs interspersing them with images of people enjoying computing like, in this case, Encarta. The song they use is "What a Wonderful World This Would Be." This "ad" warms the heart and creates an "emotion to buy." It's also enjoyable to watch. It's selling Microsoft, not Encarta. Microsoft used a similar "ad" awhile ago with a pop song from the 60's,
Maybe Corel would be better off in their TV "ads" to try their hand at selling the "emotion" of buying Corel, and all that comes with it. One example would be to run a similar "ad" to Microsoft's, only use the re-introduction of the "catchy" song, Up, Up & Away--you know-- in "my beautiful ballon."
How about a "straw poll" from all thread users. Smart or Dumb. (I'm asking for it. This could be a real ego buster!)
Up, Up, & Away,
