Randy, speaking of DMD technology. Have you checked out displaytech?
displaytech.com
They make a chip which has tiny mirrors like the DMD, but instead of tilting them one way, then the other, they use an electric current that switches them between reflective and non-reflective.
I've seen comparisons of output quality to DMDs, and I can't tell the differece. They also seem to have the potential to beat DMD's on a price/performance curve because the chips have no moving parts, making them inherently easier to manufacture than a tilting mirror design.
They are selling evalutation kits this quarter for projectors, much the way TI did last year with the DMD.

It seems to me that companies like PJTV could easily transition over to this technology from DMD's once the quantity produced went up and the price went down. The disadvantage this company has with TI is that TI has millions of dollars to sink into research, marketing, and strategic alliances.

Let me know what you think of it....
