Hey I just report 'em. I agree with your assessment of the tape, but with a strong sector showing... (?)

The drop was due to this May 11 downgrade:

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Shares of NeoMagic spiraled 13 percent lower Tuesday after a
Wall Street analyst sliced the company's rating saying that production constraints and
competitive issues could pressure the company's near-term earnings.

Morgan Stanley Dean Witter analyst Mark Edelstone lowered the
NeoMagic's (NMGC: news, msgs) rating to "neutral" from
"outperform, and cut fiscal 2000 earnings estimates to $1.25 per
share from $1.45.

The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company designs multimedia
accelerators for notebook personal computers. It currently has
more than a 50 percent share of the notebook PC graphics
controller market, Edelstone said.

It reports on Thursday. The referenced posts linked the reported earnings of HWP, AMAT and DELL as possibly raising expectations. With a positive market in the wake of the interest rate scare, IT COULD HAPPEN. CPQ made it to 27 on the 11th. Anything is possible!

OK I wont buy it.
