NetWare and NT Complement Each Other

V.K.,

My opinion is that Netware and NT are complementary in terms of satisfying IT needs in the medium to larger sized IS shops. The Big Three are using both NT and Netware. NT is replacing UNIX as an application server and will also move to the desktop. However Netware 4.1 is being used for its NDS and ability to glue together world wide networks.

The market believes NT and Netware are direct competing products. This is false. NT sales are going to go through the roof while Netware total sales should increase 20% a year. For Novell 20% growth on $1.0 billion in sales isn't shabby. NT is starting from a low sales volume and it will seem as though NT is conquering the entire World which is what Microsoft wants everyone to believe.

Happy investing.
