Franklin and all:
Greetings. You are correct in how the two systems currently are set up. The Stat-K is made of two parts, the portable analyzer and the sensor, which is a single-use disposable. It uses what is called ion selective electrode technology, figuring trace elvels of elements in blood according to whatever its software requires. The single-use test creates a strong secondary market (if and when the first market is up and running.) Right now, potassium is the only element Stat-K tests for (hence the name.) Last I heard, PDTI had completed most of the work on additional sensors (Lord please let it be for glucose!) which will require FDA approval.

The Biotrack tests currently for traces of perscription drugs in the system, and has FDA approval for testing of Valporic acid, used in treating bi-polar conditions. It is currently marketed mainly in Europe. Biotrack is also a portable analyzer and disposable cartridges and test samples generally come from the same sort of fingerprick you get when giving blood. It scans for pre-set traces of medication through a photometric system.

The obvious benefits for PDTI are a merger of technology, and a built-in marketing system overseas. A little imagination also shows how exciting the potential for this product is. With the porper software programs, it could be used by care clinics for a range of disorders, for home care - eliminating costly hospital trips, by sports officials at events for immediate results, by trainers, the Highway Patrol for blood-alcohol readings -- if the software can be developed.

Hey! Got an idea! Someone give me the name of a good medical software firm. Maybe we can form a strategic alliance. PDTI will have the equipment and marketing in place with the Biotrack. They'll provide the software and backing to get it moving. And we'll all be happy.

Sounds like a pla to me -- of course, PDTI will have to get that FDA waiver for that "moderately complex" designation. That means that the FDA requires anyone using it to be lisensed. A waiver will allow clinic and home use -- and a huge new market.

That's how it shapes up here. Good trading,
