This announcement follows a comprehensive agreement between Zip2 and United Kingdom-based Mirror Group in February 1999.

As I suspected, COMPAQ's involvement in the UK Mirror Group's new ISP ic24.com was not confined to selling IBM hardware, as The Register reported. Instead, it was an important breakthrough for Alta Vista Zip2 into the European and Internantional media market.
