Add this to the earnings and we should see a pop. Lets hope it is sustainable...
  FRAMINGHAM, Mass., May 18 (Reuters) - Staples Inc., the office supply superstore retailer, said Tuesday that it has invested in two Internet partnerships.
  Staples said it invested $7 million in register.com, a single domain name registration service on the Internet and invested $3.5 million in Point.com, formerly known as Nth Dimension Corp., a Web retailer of wireless phones, service plans and accessories.
  The company said that both agreements include extensive marketing initiatives that will drive sales across nearly all Staples sales channels, including its e-commerce, retail stores and catalog operations.
  Staples reported earnings for the first quarter ended May 1, 1999 of $0.11 per diluted share, compared to $0.08 a share the previous first quarter.   |
