Another question about 2Copy. Would the destination (mirror) drive be bootable?

That is my guess. It is also how 2copy differs from BE.

The drive probably has to be bootable before it is mirrored. 2Copy does not do AFIK any drive formatting. It just copies files.

BE seems similar to DI in that it compresses files into one big file. Some kind of proprietary restore operation has to take place to see/recover files.

2Copy just copies files as they are..NT Explorer should be able to see the files.

Would a CDR/W work here as a bootable 2Copy destination?

Probably not..but who knows there may be a way. It hardly seems worth the effort. 650 MB is too small. It would be best for selected files . Some CDWR drives will not work for basic file copies. If one can copy files in Explorer to the drive (as I think Spots indicated he did) then my guess is it can be used for the daily data file types of backup using 2Copy.
