Rande: ORCL

>>>>ORCL seems to be setting off alerts on many different levels lately. . .perhaps I need to be looking more carefully at it.<<< Take a look at the recent volume at the April and May lows.. Volume rushing in at 22-24... One interpretation is that this is the buy point for many... It sets a bottom and defines a consolidation.. This level also can be seen to be a magnet on the long term (monthly charts).

IMO ORCL has a minimum downside risk, while it may become a leader in the "new" market. It may however continue sideways in an extended consolidation pattern...at this time, I believe that ORCL is a "put away" stock..certainly not a trader..

Fundamentally, many companies have put off It projects in favor of allocation to Y2K compliant projects... with these coming to conclusion(?) budgets should once again return to enterprise projects... thus we are seeing the early evidence of support for the sector..

I equate ORCL with other market(sector)leaders that provide overall indications of direction... ORCL will become a "got to have" funds stock (if it already isn't)

We have been having discussions about these issues (CHRZ, REGI, etc) over the last few months.... and some of these are beginning to look like SAMs (even if float is very large).. It all seems to fit together to suggest a renewed interest in Big Cap IT/consulting firms
