David:
This is the new paradigm as explained at the Shareholders Meeting.

Summary-Shareholders meeting continued...

Next up was James Felcyn CFO. He went over the numbers which I will not repeat in detail as they are in the reports. He gave a few examples to drive the numbers home though that were interesting.

14th qtr of consecutive growth.
24% compound
2000% growth from IPO as of 5/12/99
619 million in cash
double the return of industry average
8 analyst now cover the stock
He gave a neat example of the US dollar costing about 5 cents to make,
CTXS has better margins.

Next was Ed Iacobucci CTO. who pointed out that this was the 10th anniversary of the company.
The new paradigm is the server storing everything and being accessible from anywhere with any appliance (my wording)
Went over how we have come full circle-mainframe to terminal with all data stored in the mainframe, then the desktop with the o/s and software and data stored there and now a trend to the servers who push the data to the terminal.
4 trends 1. similar to Moores law-Servers today can do 10X as in 1996 and they cost less. 2. Proliferation of appliances-set top box etc
3. Globalization 4. Outsourcing, people can connect without having to install.
Example that he gave was Bristol Hotels (H.I.) was acquiring hotels, each acquisition had a different computer system making it very expensive to change. CTXS solved this problem with a server farm using peoplesoft run on Winframe using the internet to connect on a priority path through a service provider. This solved the compatibility problem and saved the company over a million in the first year.

3tiers. 1. ISV (content) 2. ASp's (hosting) 3. NSP's (delivery)

Market is incredible huge potential-universal access-have to reach the other 99% of the world.
I. Appliances-eliminate barriers-enable low cost devices-universal access.
CITRIX is the best positioned company to take advantage of these changes. " THE BEST IS YET TO COME"

Asked about the threat of competition he said best solution was to make partnerships i.e. with SUNW, HP, IBM etc and deliver a benefit to the partner. i.e. as with Msft.

I came away thinking that I should buy some more shares. eom
