Thanks for that Mike! Both strategies are useful in their respective ways and have their place, but are very different in their results. If I am not mistaken, selling the 10 puts would be a method to go long more shares with limited downside and without having to cough up another $87,500 for 1000 shares of the stock. Seems this approach would be useful if one was convinced that the price was going higher. Right?

Have never used options myself. Would like to dabble with strategies that work in conjunction with shares that I am long.
