ALYA Opens San Francisco Sales Office, Expands in Austin, Texas
Annual Meeting Completed
VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 18, 1999--ALYA International Inc. (OTC BB:ALYA - news; ''ALYA'' or the ''Company'') announced today that the Company will open a sales office in the San Francisco Bay area on June 1, 1999.
This office will be headed by Art Cunnington, who will have the prime responsibility for OEM sales in North and South America. Mark Mabee has joined Gerry Gabel in ALYA's Austin, Texas office. Mr. Cunnington and Mr. Mabee are familiar with ALYA's technology from their previous experience at the Motorola WorldWide Smart Card Solutions Division (WSSD).
Art Cunnington has accepted the position of Vice President Sales/Operations - Americas and will be hiring support staff for the San Francisco office. Mr. Cunnington has twenty years senior marketing, sales and business development experience in technical systems. He was recently in a key management position with the Motorola WSSD and formerly with Eastman Kodak.
Mark Mabee has joined ALYA as Director Business Development. Mr. Mabee is a technical expert in the area of ''state of the art'' client server based access control systems, and has over eleven years experience in technical sales. His more recent appointments were with Motorola WSSD, IBM and Eastman Kodak.
''Art and Mark along with Gerry Gabel (a business manager with expertise in the LonWorks based building controls industry) provide a strong sales management team to build ALYA's 'Americas Sales Operation,''' said Douglas Corbett, President of ALYA. ALYA held its Annual General Meeting on May 7, 1999. The meeting, chaired by the Company's CFO David Lewis C.A., was properly constituted and all motions were approved. The present Directors were all reelected to the Board for another one-year term and include Milan Carnogursky, Chairman of the Board, Douglas Corbett, President, Jaro Bucko, Director and Peter Sobotka, Director.
The audited financial statements provided by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (the Company's Auditor for three consecutive years) were accepted. Management informed the meeting that the Form 10SB will be submitted by June 1, 1999. When this filing has been accepted, ALYA will be termed a 'reporting' company.
