Perhaps if you want to learn about investments etc you should know about margins etc. The investment community puts great value in a companies margins, as well as growth rates etc.

On Intel using their higher end products to subsidize their low end products due to competition: You are right. It is self evident that this going on and it goes on everyday in the marketplace and many many folks have stated it. It's the capitalistic way.

As long as INTEL does not sell below its MARGINAL cost they have every right to do so. As an AMD shareholder I certainly wish that they were not being so agressive, on the other hand Intel is a fierce competitor and does not want to lose any more market share.
