Naw. Decided to wait until after I received 'em <gg>.
Ordered only the RW media. I have plenty of CD-R blanks.

>>experiences you have with media would be much appreciated

I've used the TDK CD-R blanks from the Price Club exclusively.
Not that they're necessarily better but that they're cheap,
like me <g>. These claim to be certified for up to 6x,
though I noticed the other day that current Price Club stock
claims 8x. In any event, I have never had a problem with
the medium, though I sure had a problem with the burn
software till I got Easy CD Creator (3.5). Since then,
zero, zip.

However, I've not burned a normal CD on the Yamaha yet. Looks
like the Adaptec packet writer (Direct CD, I think it's called) is
writing at 2x. Didn't find a configuration option, but I
haven't looked too hard. In truth, I don't care much because
it runs in the background and uses very little overhead
when somethings being copied. Let 'er rip, says I <ggg>.

The upshot is that I haven't burned anything at 4x yet.

My 20 gig (x7200) Maxtor arrived late yesterday. Heavy
little sucker. I'm going to try to put it in tonight
and see if I can boot NT from a 7.8 gig partition.
