Yaacov, I understand, and sympathize. The monopoly over marriage is a particular scandal, for example. On the other hand, there would be no Jews without the pious, we would have totally assimilated by now, so they should get some respect. Plus, they are the one's who lost the most in the Holocaust. 90% percent of Poland's Jews, most of them Orthodox, many Hasidic--- gone. Ukraine, mostly pious--- gone. Belarus---- gone. Now, those who do not live in Brooklyn <g> want to live in the Holy Land: Hebron is on the West Bank, Bethlehem is on the West Bank, the heart of ancient Israel: West Bank...I don't think they are so hard to understand.... |
