NEW YORK (AFX) - Gold closed lower. COMEX gold for current delivery closed at 247.20 usd per ounce, down 60 cents from yesterday's COMEX close. The August contract closed at 275.90 usd per ounce and the October contract closed at 277.90 usd, both down 60 cents from yesterday's close.
