ALTERN8...

I totally understand. I do the same thing. The important thing to remember is learn from what you observe.

There is no substitute for real world experience when it comes to this stuff. You just can't get emotional about it. You will lose $$. I have lost more cash because I panicked and closed a position while it was down. Most of the time, Had I waited just a day or two, I would have made money. Thats where sit and click drives you crazy. Just determine what your exit point is and place a limit order. Then you don't have to worry about it so much. I don't mean forget about it, but don't monitor it all day. I watch because I am eventually going to daytrade. I am not jumping right in though. Too many folks losing money that way. I have been momentum trading (short 2 to 3 day positions) for about 6 months and still want to wait about 6 more before getting serious. This is letting me get a feel for how things work.

As far as the Fed goes, everybody waiting to see if they are going to raise interest rates. That affects the market as a whole. If you notice the weak volume on most stocks today, everybody is in wait and see mode.

Good Luck...
