We can agree to disagree on some things.

An average that is not accompanied with a measure of variance would cause a student to fail in the four statistics courses I took at university. Geologists had to take one of those courses. Winspear either left the standard deviation (or range) out on purpose, or in error.
I agree sample size is too small in most squares to do any meaningful statistics, except J11 (perhaps K11). A measure of variation would have been instructive to the market, considering this is the likely location of the initial open pit mine in the MRDI study, and a possible location for an adit into the thicker portions of the kimberlite dyke which travels under the lake.

As far as grade being there,..that continues to be a question for me. Single event emplacement vs multi event emplacement with grade being different in each emplacement is a worry.

I continue to wonder why Winspear didn't attempt to drill some holes from the NW peninsula, horizontally through the dyke down its dip, thereby obtaining several long cores, perhaps a few hundred meters or so long. It's done in other types of mines. Perhaps Kimberlite is a poor rock to do this in, due to its lack of structural strength. Any thoughts? It would have allowed some very detailed morphological studies of the kimberlite dyke along its length (width or whatever).

Where am I going? As my grandmother used to say, "Out,.....wash your face and you can come with me!"
