Neocon, I don't like your formulation: it's not merely a question of ''under what terms''!! From now on, we're dealing with the very raison d'etre of NATO!! It's an existential issue, not the wheeling and dealing you're hinting at! See, NATO has assumed the leadership in this ethical cleansing operation in the Balkans. So, what will people say if, in the end, NATO must pass on the torch to some other military organization because of its political shortcomings? Such a failure in finishing the job would sign NATO's own (slow) death warrant! And what do you have in stock to stand in for?
