Again you are very astute in your analysis. The health portals are developing fast and the various models promise to flush themselves out. The business model that shows real revenue, supported by real traffic and stickiness (people returning to the site) will win the race. It surprises me that there are so many sites with the same content, same promotion, same claims and same revenue models. These models do not show as much promise as being promoted. The Net is a great medium but in the final analysis how many places can we go to buy drugs, OTC products, vitamins etc? How many ways can we read the same old rehashed information? The difference that sets it apart is what we are looking at. The revenue model that can create real EPS is all that matters in the final stretches of the race. Not who has merged with whom. Two weak businesses merging does not a strong business make. It makes for a weak business. Two or more poorly conceived revenue models merging does not a healthy company make. The Jury remains out!
