Part of the valuation problem (and you are far from the only one who seems to forget this) is that AMZN isn't "just a bookstore" anymore. How many CD's and DVD's has BAMM sold? AMZN keeps piling up losses because they keep opening new divisions. In fact I recall someone, Jim Cramer, IIRC, who once stated that AMZN's book division IS profitable.

When BAMM gets someone willing to finance a foray on their part into music, or maybe help them open an auction site, then we can start to consider them a peer to AMZN.
