You've never been in that position then. It is a major pain in the ass if the stock gets delisted and declares bankrupcy. I've been there. You have to wait 1 full year after the company formally is given protection. The brokerage firm will NOT let you take any of the money out until the full year is out. 1 year and change that your money is locked up. It's all government rules too. It's not as if the brokerage will say ok if you plead long enough.
