Software Digital VCR ? I'm surprised nobody has mention the recent buzz about software digital VCRs, the market DVExplore is supposedly aiming for in the PC space. mgisoft.com and purediva.com Soon there will be one from QI and the other 4 or 5 or dozen or so software companies. Nevermind that 3 GB/hr is a huge waste, and a Pentium III 500 still doesn't match the video quality produced by $30 dedicated Sony encoder (as seen in TIVO and Replay), and the fan... None of these arguments stopped the software DVD nonsense before the power of the Pentium and hardware acceleration finally caught up. PSADBW: what a Godsend!
