The problem with you, my friends, is...
...that you are very good at deceiving each other.
Managing expectations...is the key. I understand that you would like to make a killing, quick and then run.
Now, it does not work that way.
ACTV currently has hundreds of potential competitors. You know some of them, but you ignore many more.
DIRECTRIX INC 21ST CENTURY TELECOM GROUP INC CNET INC UNIVIEW TECHNOLOGIES CORP KNOLOGY HOLDINGS INC CLASSIC COMMUNICATIONS INC INFINITY BROADCASTING CORP INFINITY MEDIA CORP TELEWEST COMMUNICATIONS PLC WORLDWIDE INTERNET MARKETING INC BROADCAST COM INC CFW COMMUNICATIONS CO CHANCELLOR MEDIA CORP OF LOS ANGELES
Etc.
Obviously, I did not even list their foremost competitors...
So, what will make the difference?
As ever, the market will make the difference.
Gemstar has been first to market, but has lost its vision.
Can IATV make it?
Yes, of course...
Will IATV make it?
Time will tell...
The point is that you should stop praying for a quick run. I mean you should stop hoping for:
- Microsoft buying the company - The company making $M before the end of the year - Elvis becoming part of ACTV's management team - The Pope giving an on-line concert using HyperTV - RNWK buying the company - AOL buying the company - Yahoo! buying the company - CMGI buying the company - My dog buying the company for $100,000M in cash - Etc.
Right now, Wall Street has to decide if ACTV's management can be trusted. Their latest Proxy Statement raised a few eyebrows. Within the next two weeks, the Street will decide if IATV's market potential can sustain the level of greed that has been exposed. Once this decision is made, IATV will trade back up.
Until then, IATV may go up or down...maybe more down than up...
However, I believe ACTV will be the market leader two years from today.
