To All: Some of you have asked me in the past just what I mean when I say: "Thank you for your courteous and thoughtful response."

The best image I can bring to bear on the subject is a scene from "The Terminator" movie where Arnie has returned to his luxurious hotel accommodations where he had earlier performed some improvised self eye and arm surgery. This time he has been visiting a police station, remember the now famous "I'll be back" line. In his quest for Sarah Conner (Linda Hamilton) he shoots and kills almost every cop in that police station. In return, he takes an enormous number of bullet hits and, as a consequence, much of his external (exterior to the robot inside) flesh has been destroyed by the many bullet and shotgun direct hits he has taken in his visit to the police station. Later, while he is in his hotel room researching how to best contact Sarah Conner again, a thoughtful and courteous hotel attendant knocks at his door and, commenting on the stimulus to his olfactory epithelia due to the apparent rotting away of what remains of Arnie's body. Inside Arnie's brain (and do remember that this movie was pre-GUI during the time that DOS ruled) a pull down menu of possible responses is presented.
"Thank you for your thoughtful and courteous response" is intended to parallel in spirit and thought, the choice that Arnie actually makes.

Regards,

DARBES
