From what I know CPQ pissed off all the analysts when the stock was at its 52 week highs a few months back because there were problems then that CPQ hid. Obviously they hid them well. What has happened to CPQ is somewhat firm specific but at the same time the box making industry is at a slow decline. Once people understand that it is not what brand of computer thats important rather its the components, then its over for the boxmakers. Would people rather ave a brand computer or a no name computer with brand name top of the line parts. The quality of boxes by brand makers are only as good as the components. So why not forget the middleman and custom build a computer.
