This has been going on for a long time. Novell, is committed to divest itself of all Santa Cruz Operations (SCOC) and COREL. I don't think it had as much to do with Corel's pulling out of Utah as it was wanting to distance the NEW Novell from its two+ billion dollar Unix and WordPerfect debacles. Both stocks have withstood the deluge fairly well considering it is one hell of a lot of stock being dumped on a couple of low volume traders. Unlike Corel, SCO has started to string out some profitable quarters and is in the $6-7 range

I've lost count, can you point me to a post, or does anyone have some information of what they've sold, in what range and what they have left? I just read that they still have 4+ million shares of SCO. I think they've realized less from the sales of both stocks then the current market value, so how smart is that? Novell, is not strapped for cash, do these sales provide them with some tax or writeoff advantages? Wouldn't it be better to support diversity in the software marketplace with what is now a small stake in these companies. There are many enterprise IT shops using Netware with WordPerfect on the desktop, isn't it in Novell's best interest that they have an alternative to Office2000.

I am both a COSFF and NOVL stockholder. I am very bullish about the NEW Novell. But, think they are being shortsighted in continuing this purge.
