Chonan Onchon Development will provide a 330,000 sq metres of land while the U.S. company will invest $150 million in the joint venture, according to the statement. Respective stakeholdings in the joint venture were not immediately available. The hotel will be built before the soccer World Cup finals begin in mid-2002 within a hot springs resort complex, itself under development, in Chonan, 100 km south of Seoul. Construction will be undertaken by Korea Development Corp, a Daelim Industrial Co group unit.
