Fred, 1. - there are other thread where trading piss matches can occur - pleez don't start one on this one.
P.S. would you guys be kind enough to post some of these short/put positions that allow you to have %50 YTD return while every short/put position that you actually post crashes?? (when the position is taken not after the fact!!!)
2. - Depending on luck and timing 50% return on options isn't unusual,
(nor is a -50% return). Whether calls are easier than puts in general, good question. Generally the rise in stock prices should be favorable to profits in calls but the tendency for slow rises and quick drops may make up for the bias via the lower cost basis of the puts.
