Agreed, so that would mean that the water is coming from somewhere else,- NOT from the formation depths, but rather from a location above the formation.
Perhaps the water was coming through a crack or failure in the well casing, which may now be sealed. This is what I was told. I don't claim to be an expert, but this seems like a logical explanation.
