>>the packet write..was it an overall time?

Yes, from drop to stop. The time would have been
pretty good for 2x. For 4x, which DirectCD claimed
it was doing, I thought it sucked. However, I
know almost nothing about the packet writing CD-R
protocol. Maybe 45% efficiency is reasonable (including
network and file system overhead).
By definition it's not streaming.
But I still suspect it of loafing <g>.

Anyhow, the whole process is so unobtrusive that I can't
get worked up over it either way.

>> I checked the invoice and I got it for $223.95

228.95 on my statement. A friend of mine who lives in
Santa Cruz once told me he didn't mind the CA tax
because he could just look at the check, double the
tax, and have a nice, 17% tip calculated for him <g>.
Go figure. In Va (4.5%) I can leave a better tip,
get better service, and come out cheaper <g>. No
sprouts all over everything, either <GGG>.
