Thank you for your views, they seem to confirm my view that the real power of the Fed is more comparable to a venerable old "Mafia Don", rather that a mechanical direct influence... For the time being, particularly when you say that... but it is worth noting that while real rates of return are high they are not at historic or unsustainable levels. And nominal yields are at low levels for the latter half of the twentieth century. ... leads me to think, and reinforce the thought that we are in an incredible period for further wealth creation for both, companies and the individual for at least ten years to come...in spite of the potential timely ear pulling from "Don Alberto Greenspanini" if we get too exuberant. Then, a potential trigger point (to the downside), may be the possibility for Don Alberto to retire, and facing the need to replace him with an equally well respected "Don"... hmmm... while that is a scary thought... not really, as the market will, in time readjust rates hopefully in a logical way, unless Don Alberto's replacement gets in its way... I guess it is time to re-read Mario Puzzo's The Godfather to learn more about the intricacies of Mafia politics. I wonder what would be the equivalent of receiving a fish via e-mail... (a fish virus ? )
