Latest Proposals from the NGISC Wed May 19, 1999 This Monday, the National Gambling Impact Study Commission (NGISC) approved proposals to ban Internet gambling, raise the legal gambling age to 21, and end legalized gambling on collegiate sports. The nine-member group nears completion of its report due June 18 to Congress, the White House, state governors, and leaders of native American tribes. The question is if the NGISC fully understands the complexity of Internet gaming issues. Questions and concerns have been raised by major ISPs and native American tribes. See CNN for the full story.
