Off subject to Paul:

In light of today's news on GZTC thought I better tell you a little about the company now!

Genzyme Transgenics is special. They know how to make human proteins much more inexpensively than existing method (CHO-chinese hamster ovary method).

They have patents.

They have already expressed over 30 proteins using their method in commercial quantities.

First product is in phaseIII, will be submitted for new drug application end of this year. Antithrobine III (ATIII) is name of protein. We all have it in our bodies, it helps keep our blood from coagulating.

In short, this company has discovered a means of producing existing proteins at about a tenth of the cost of existing methods. The market for ATIII is about 200 million, worldwide. It could be more but currently ATIII is produced by extracting it from plasma which is in short supply. GEt this, GZTC has 15 goats, which carry the human gene that is responsible for ATIII production, that can meet and exceed current demand. They implant the human gene into embryo of goat.

I bring all of this up now because of LonzaBiologics news today. Our guess is that this company trades between 50 and 200 five years from now.

You get to their web side via Genzyme's (GENZ) web site. GENZ owns 39% of GZTC.

Buy a few shares, then read all about it. Unfortunately, SI thread has been dead. Maybe we'll reactivate it. This stock has simply been off radar screen.
