Lycos and West Coast Entertainment Announce Marketing Alliance; Includes Joint Online Promotions and Extensive In-Store Marketing

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 19, 1999--Lycos, Inc., the most visited hub on the Internet and the world's largest online community, today announced a promotional and marketing agreement with West Coast Entertainment Corporation, the owner, operator and franchisor of more than 400 West Coast Video locations.
As part of the agreement, Lycos will provide links and advertisements directing users to West Coast Entertainment's Web site, Westcoastvideo.com (http://www.westcoastvideo.com) from the Lycos Entertainment Web Guide and other locations throughout the Lycos Network. Lycos will participate in several West Coast Video in-store promotions, including the broadcast of Lycos television commercials and distribution of various Lycos promotional items to West Coast Video's more than four million customers. Additionally, West Coast Video will offer Lycos' "Beginner's Guide to the Internet," a free video rental starring acclaimed actor John Turturro.
