Sure wish I knew more re. what's pushing VMIX now. I do much better when I put my $$$ on cos which I find have a good story. As I have said, I believe VMIX is a good co., but they went back up over 28 a couple of weeks ago, then just as quickly went back down to just over 20.

They have gotten new business contracts with big online retailers and new "buy" analyst ratings, but price movement was minimal at the time. The one thing I have noticed is that interspersed among the mostly small trades have been some relatively large buys (10k--30k shares).

PLAT arbitrage woulda worked it looks like. I didn't do it. CHPS was a good example of how $$$ can be made on a buyout. I had bought CHPS after its big decline betting on an upturn. I lucked out when INTL bought it out. Don't remember the exact numbers, but I should have sold on the day of the announcement.

The price slipped back nearly 20% on the fear that the feds wouldn't let the deal go through. The completion date kept slipping and so did the price. I could have filled a burn barrel with the tender offers, but I just decided to wait it out--didn't want to mess with the paper work, and the way I understand it, I would not have gotten my dough until after the completion of the deal--it it went through (Isn't that how it works? You're just committing your shares to the deal--formally going along with it?).

When it was announced that the feds were not going to block the deal, the price spurted and I sold within a couple percent of the takeover price. It took another couple of months before the sale was formalized.

Jim
