ATI attains the highest US distribution market share ever recorded, with ATI RAGE Fury the best-selling board Impressive showing driven by strong retail sector sales of ATI products during March 1999
Toronto, Ontario, May 18, 1999 - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSE:ATY, NASDAQ:ATYT) announced today that the company has earned the highest market share of graphics and video cards sold through U.S. distribution channels ever reported, with ATI add-in boards capturing 46 per cent of the market in March 1999. The new ATI RAGE Fury board was the leading add-in board sold through distribution.
PC Data, a leading computer market research analyst, also reports that ATI's overall US retail market share reached a company-high of 25 per cent in March, helping to drive the impressive distribution channel result.
The market research findings closely follow ATI receiving the "Best System Builder Program" award announced earlier this year at the System Builder Summit held in Scottsdale Arizona, an event sponsored by Microsoft Corporation, Intel and Ingram Micro. Support by the system builder community has been responsible for helping the penetration of the RAGE Fury in the PC marketplace.
