On the longer term this deal with the TCP is what Spectrum needs. Spectrum has good technology but it now applied on a vender by vender basis, a product for Sunkist, one for Siemens another for Kodak. What SSPI needs is a product which sells to an entire industry sector i.e. digital communication industry. There are many talented technology companies which are excellent at what they do but have become stuck in niche markets. For a big win we need to sell our technology into a large market which is growing fast. This has become a concern to me recently as a share holder and may be the cause of the low share price, it is not clear if this company will be able to grow into a large enough market segment to gain the kinds of returns which technology investors expect and need from their risky investments. If SSPI is going to be able to double its technical staff then this really is an important event, and the prospects for a place in the digital communications market are very exciting.
