this is common. when usx bought txo , txo had 6.3 billion surplus in retirement. us steel dissolved txo employees and cashed in at 6.7 billion. this deal smells of a good ole boy deal. some execs. get big golden parachute. employees and us stockholders of usw get screwed.
i hope both courts ,congress & unions take a close look of this at this one early enough to keep the stock holders interests in front.
