If PCs do not need more processing power, this implies PCs do not need MPEG2 chips for processing the compression of raw video input data from 27Mbs to 3Mbs.

You appear to be contradicting your original premise about Intel needing C-Cube.

I will make a strong statement in your favor (hint: I'm helping you here): the PC does not currently have adequate processing power to be able to do all of the processing required for making the PC into an interactive TV (nor does it have the ease-of-use.)

However, I am not implying Intel needs to buy C-Cube. That's a different debate.
