thread,

i just came across my notes on the 'back orifice' program/trojan. (very quickly, 'bo' is a program that can let unwanted people access and control your pc by way of its internet link. it runs on win95/98 systems.)

one quick and telling way to determine if 'bo' is residing on your system (because it runs invisibly and is seldom recognizable to the victim) is to look for a file named WINDLL.DLL in the windows\system directory. bo v1.2 places that file there invariably every time it runs. delete it. if another copy appears on restart, you've got bo.

so click start, find, then files or folders, and enter the filename.

this is just a way of determining if you have the program.

:)
