E-mail from the company: "Dear Odyssey Members; A new shipwreck project, called the "Republic", has been added to our summer expedition plans! In addition to the search for the "Cambridge", we also plan to be searching for a gold rush era steamship, code named "Republic". The "Republic" sank after the civil war carrying approximately 48,000 troy ounces of gold. While the bullion value is approximately $13,000,000, much of it may have been shipped as dust, nuggets, and privately minted coins and bars from the gold field district, potentially increasing the value of the cargo. We recently reached an agreement with researchers and insurance interests that gives Odyssey approximately 80% of the net revenue generated by the project. A side scan survey for the "Republic" has already been completed, which revealed 64 anomalies. Several of these anomalies are potential targets. We plan to begin inspecting targets with our "Phantom" ROV this summer.
