I think it will be great if a deal can be worked out.

NSM would get a kick ass 0.18 Cu process in Portland together with foundry access to Dresden etc. In this way their appliance products would be competitive with Intels stuff. They would also gain decent cores such as k-3 once it is small enough to be an embedded product (probably 0.13 micron).

And AMD gains by picking up additional capacity.
And no other bug guy entering the market to spoil the duoply.
And rights to 370 sockets.
Additional cyrix engineers integration will be straightforward.

Hope the news is real.
